Spring Art Pilgrimage (is full!)
Thursday, March 27, 2008
7 AM - 7 PM
Cost: $80 ($72 for Seniors)
Join The Rev. Susan Barnes for an art pilgrimage to Ft. Worth! There are two landmark shows in Fort Worth, and we're organizing a bus trip to see them both. We'll start at the Kimbell Museum to see Picturing the Bible: The Earliest Christian Art (that will be its final week and its only venue). Then we're off to the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, a handsome new facility by the celebrated Japanese architect Tadao Ando. We'll have lunch at the Modern Museum and then see the retrospective of the contemporary sculptor, Martin Puryear, organized by the National Gallery of Art.
We plan to leave the St. Matthew's Steck parking lot at 7 a.m. and return by 7 p.m. The total cost, including lunch and museum admissions, is $80 ($72 for seniors who get a museum discount). Space is limited to 50 on the bus.
To reserve your spot, make a $35 deposit check out to "St. Matthew's," noting "Art Trip" on the memo line. Additionally please notify Susan
(Susan@StMattsAustin.org) that you've reserved a spot. The $35 deposit pays for the bus and is non-refundable.
