Facilitators’ Training for The Art of Engaging Holy Scripture
May 18-23, 2008 at St. Matthew’s

The Art of Engaging Holy Scripture (TAEHS) integrates the ancient practice of praying the Bible with modern approaches to studying the Bible in a small group process. TAEHS awakens participants to the presence of the Holy Spirit in the text, in their own self, in their sisters and brothers, and, finally, in their common life together. This dynamic process bears the fruit of a “community of the Spirit.” There are five full years of Bible study material already prepared in this curriculum.

The Art of Engaging Holy Scripture is led by trained facilitators. Training to be a facilitator occurs in a 5 1/2 day intensive workshop that costs $250 per participant (scholarships available; lunches included). The training workshop fully imparts the method of engaging the text and the dynamics of how to facilitate the small group process.

The training workshop in Austin will last from the afternoon of May 18 through early afternoon of May 23. If you have questions, contact Susan Barnes (512-345-8314, ext. 217; Susan@StMattsAustin.org)
