CPR+AED Training (St Matthew's members only)
SAVE A LIFE! Take CPR/AED training
Every other Thursday: 6 PM - 9:30 PM in B13
No Cost
Thursday, 12/11: Two Places Available
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency medical procedure for a victim of cardiac or respiratory arrest. An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses the potentially life threatening cardiac problems and is able to treat them through the application of electrical therapy which stops the arrhythmia, allowing the heart to reestablish an effective rhythm.
The Vestry has authorized holding CPR/AED training classes for the remainder of the year at no cost to parish members. The classes are every other Thursday, starting September 11, from 6 PM to 9:30 PM in Room B13. The classes are restricted to 9 people per session. Three of the four planned Automated External Defibrillators (AED) are now installed: (1) the West Sanctuary Entrance Foyer; (2) Sanctuary Basement; (3) Inside of Huffman Hall next to East entrance. The remaining AED is to be installed in the new Youth and Education building upon completion.
If you are interested, please email Larry Richards at
LGRlooks-4Vestry@Yahoo.com
specifying which date(s) you would like to take a class or if you are willing to take any class available. You will get a reply confirming your choice, if it is available. If you show up for the class without the email enrollment notification, you may only take the class if there is a vacancy. Though the class is free, donations will be accepted (please put CPR/AED on the memo line of your check).
