Ministry of the Month: Alternative Gifts Market
Sunday, December 3, 2006 after the 10:30 Service
St. Matthews is once again reaching out to the world by creating an Alternative Christmas Gifts Market to be held on December 3, 2006 right after the 10:30 service. You can expect a light lunch, beautiful booths representing the missions, entertainment and beautiful Christmas cards you can fill out for your friends and relatives for whom it may be hard to buy. We are thrilled to announce that the Daughters of the King will sponsor the event this year with the help of the Junior Daughters and the Brotherhood of St. Andrew.
The Christmas Market will serve as a "kick-off" event for St. Matthew's support of the Millennium Goals for Episcopal Relief and Development through Alternative Gifts International (AGI). Missions are chosen from careful analysis of the world's needs and fully support the Millennium Goals; and you will have the opportunity to choose the missions that touch your heart or simply to give to the ones with the most need. Please go to the AGI web site for full details at
www.AlternativeGifts.org
and plan to be at the St. Matthew's Alternative Christmas Gifts Market to have lots of fun and support the world's needs!
THE 2005 ALTERNATIVE GIFTS MARKET raised $6,464 during Advent (Trinity Center in Austin $850; Angel Tree $685; Food and Formula in Nigeria $667; Endangered Girls in SE Asia $913; Sun Power Lakota Sioux $545; Orphans in Uganda $1,013; Solar Solution in Tanzania & Kenya $453; Honduras Mission $1,348).
