To know Christ, grow in Christ, and share Christ's love.
Austin Partners in Education
Austin Partners in Education began in 1983 as a partnership between the Greater Austin Chamber of
Commerce and the Austin Independent School District. The program encourages
businesses, individuals and community organizations to get involved in AISD
schools. Each day St. Matthew's prays for The
Students, Parents and Staff of St. Matthew’s Day School, Hill Elementary School,
Murchison Middle School and Anderson High School, schools we have adopted via Austin Partners in
Education.
The relationship for "partner schools" is one of sharing
our space and responding to their requests for community support as we are able. We
have provided space for their square dances, choral concerts, band and sports banquets,
etc. We allow them to do their major fundraisers, like poinsettia sales, from
Huffman Hall. A team of mentally challenged students from Anderson High School works as a janitor team one day a week in the sanctuary.
