All men of the parish are encouraged and welcome to attend the monthly breakfast meeting of the Brotherhood of Saint Andrew to hear Danny Henshaw tell his story of his walk in the Lord on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 8:00 a.m., in Huffman Hall. We meet at 8:00 a.m. for breakfast, followed by business meeting, Bible study, and program. We always finish before 9:30 a.m. The meetings is open to all men of Saint Matthews, whether they are members or not.
The Brotherhood began in Chicago in 1883 with 12 men who sought to follow the example of St. Andrew. Since then, chapters of the Brotherhood have spread around the world among the Anglican Communion. There are 37 chapters in the Diocese of Texas. Through the years, the Brotherhood has started the Forward Day by Day program, Faith Alive, Pewsaction and missionary projects in Japan and Africa.
The St. Matthew's Chapter is the second largest chapter in the United States. We have speakers at our monthly breakfast meetings, work projects, retreats, men's fellowship dinners with speakers, joint activities with the Daughters of the King, our sister organization, and Bible studies.

Almighty God, who gave such grace to your apostle Andrew that he readily obeyed the call of your Son Jesus Christ, and brought his brother with him: Give us, who are called by your Holy Word, grace to follow him without delay, and to bring those near to us into his gracious presence, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
