Pins in the map represent people who are willing to
share a ride or need a ride.

This ride sharing coordination service is provided by your Environmental Stewardship Council to help reduce gas consumption and associated pollution. It also has fringe benefits:

    *  Provides you a way to get to know your neighbors better

    *  Reduces  your car expenses

    *  Lowers gas demand which helps keep gas prices down

If you are interested in sharing driving duties or just need a ride, examine the map for pin postings of people that live near you.  If you know someone who needs a ride, please help them get a pin posted.

If there is a pin in the map near your home:

1.        Get their name and phone number from the log book using the corresponding pin number.

2.        Call that person and discuss a plan. Consider number of people in each party, home pickup time and campus departure time.

3.     The party that was called should remove their pin from the map the next time they are at church, if a plan was agreed to. Keep the pin.
Do not put the pin back on the bulletin board.

If you couldn’t reach a common plan, add yourself to the map to partner with someone else (see next steps).

If there is not a pin in your area, add yourself:

1.        Choose lowest numbered pin available from the row of pins between the upper and lower maps. They should be ordered left to right.

2.        Add your pin on the map at your home’s location. Use the upper high resolution map if possible. Use the full Travis County map at bottom if you live further away.

3.     Enter your information in the log book at the corresponding pin number. Sit back and wait for your neighbors to call.
