The nursery for children 18 months - 4 years is in the Education Building. There is also a comfortable, soundproof room upstairs for adults who wish to keep their babies with them during the service.
Home Delivery of Holy Communion If you are unable to come to church and would like Holy Communion brought to you on Sunday, please call Jim Sparks at 345-7757.

Personal Prayer Teams are available during Communion at Prayer Stations on either side of the sanctuary. One station is located on the east side, by the windows, and the other station is on the west side in the gallery. Prayer requests and discussion are completely confidential.
The Good Samaritans Ministry offers love in the form of a hot meal for you and your family if you are in the hospital, sick, or recovering from adversity. In addition, other pastoral care services are available if you will just call the church office, 345-8314 with your needs and requests. In case of emergency, St. Matthew’s clergy may be reached by calling 771-0680.

Visitor’s Orientation will be held every other week. At that time one of the priests will meet with you to greet and answer questions you may have. If you are visiting and would like to know more about St. Matthew’s and what it has to offer you, please gather at the front of the sanctuary NEXT WEEK immediately after the 10:30 service.
*DOK Training: In the near future, the Order of the Daughters of the King will be offering training classes for candidates who wish to be admitted as "Daughters." *Our Guest Preacher today, The Rev. Doug Tipps, a native Texan, has been preaching the gospel since he was a young man. He has served as pastor of River Oaks Baptist Church and San Marcos First Baptist Church. Now he is director of Global Strategies, a human rights organization, whose focus is ending ethnic and religious conflict world wide.

The women and children served at SafePlace received more than 200 items. Averaging out the cost per item our gift came to about $475. Thank you to all who participated. Your generosity means a great deal to those with very little.

*"Opening Our Hearts Through the Arts" Festival meeting today and every Sunday in August after the 10:30 service, B-14. Still looking for silent auction donations and volunteers for children's activities (crafts, face painting, storytelling), decorating and publicity distribution.
Donations Needed for the Arts Festival Silent Auction We are looking for donations from individuals as well as businesses that we could put in the silent auction. Example: dinner for 4 at a nice restaurant, gift certificates or that wonderful piece of art you no longer have a need, desire or use for. Fall Kick-off Singing Workshop Have you ever wanted to learn how to sing or how to sing better? On Saturday, August 16, you have that chance – led by our own Cary Michaels, who is on the voice faculty at Southwest Texas State University. The first part will be from 10am-noon, we’ll have lunch, followed by a second part from 1-3pm. This is a free event, open to everyone who enjoys singing. Choir participation is not required! Hymns will be the main teaching material. A reservation is required for lunch. There will be a sign-up sheet near the organ on Sunday, August 10, or call Suzanne Daniel, 773-0910 by Wednesday, August 13th.
Daily Evening Prayer in the Cauley Bell Tower Chapel Continues every night at 6:00 p.m. Evening Prayer is led by a lay reader of the church. Lasting 12-15 minutes, the service involves the reading of a psalm, a scripture lesson and includes prayers and intercessions for the church and the world.
St. Matthew’s Pictorial Directory Information
Have you signed up? If not, please do so in the Commons after today's service. You should expect to spend about an hour at church during your Portrait Sitting. This will include checking-in, sitting for your portraits, viewing your portraits, and selecting your free 8x10, the Directory photo, and any portrait packages you may wish to purchase.
All told…it should take about an hour.
