Excellent, Experienced Child Care for Your Young Children is Offered from 7:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Nurseries for children 0-18 months are located in Huffman Hall on the parking lot side of the hallway. The nursery for children 18 months - 4 years is in the Education Building. There is also a comfortable, soundproof room upstairs for adults who wish to keep their babies with them during the service.

Home Delivery of Holy Communion If you are unable to come to church and would like Holy Communion brought to you on Sunday, please call Jim Sparks at 345-7757.

Thanks for Wearing Your Nametag! If you need a new nametag please see Dedee Norman at the Welcome Table in the Commons right after church. Thanks for faithfully wearing your nametag each and every Sunday.

Personal Prayer Teams are available during Communion at Prayer Stations on either side of the sanctuary. One station is located on the east side, by the windows, and the other station is on the west side in the gallery. Prayer requests and discussion are completely confidential.

The Good Samaritans Ministry offers love in the form of a hot meal for you and your family if you are in the hospital, sick, or recovering from adversity. In addition, other pastoral care services are available if you will just call the church office, 345-8314 with your needs and requests. In case of emergency, St. Matthew’s clergy may be reached by calling 771-0680.

Let your light shine! Make plans now to join us for Ministry Fair, Sunday, Aug 24th, 9:00 - 10:30, in Huffman Hall. Once a year, on Ministry Fair Sunday, we showcase the vast array of ministries sponsored and supported by members of our St. Matthew’s family. It is a sight to behold! This is also YOUR chance to find a place to "plug in," "recharge your batteries," and "add a little spark to your life!" Join us and find a way to let your light shine! New Member Dessert Party 7:00 p.m. August 24. If you have become a member of St. Matthew's in the past year and have not attended a New Member Dessert Party, now is your chance. The Newcomer’s Council invites you to attend the next party Aug. 24 at Senior Warden Phil and Toni Hatlen’s

home. Come and meet the staff, ministry leaders and other new members. If you have not received an invitation and would like to attend please call Jeri Muhich 452-1210 . All new members please RSVP by Aug. 18.

*Sunday School Orientations We are pleased to offer Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for our children 3 years - 3rd grade. Each classroom is a materials rich hands-on environment with a Christ-centered focus on scripture and liturgy. All new children, all children turning 3 by Sept. 1, and all children entering 1st grade are strongly encouraged to attend an orientation, so they are comfortable when classes begin Aug. 31.

*Sunday School Orientation Registration: Call Jennifer at 345-8314 x 221, to choose your time: 3 yr.-Kinder attend Sunday, August 24 at 4:45; Monday., August 25 at 9:30; Thursday, August 28 at 5:15; or Saturday, August 30 at 10:45. 1st - 3rd grades attend Sunday August 24 at 4:00; Wednesday August 25 at 4:00; Thursday August 28 @ 5:45; or Saturday, August 30 at 11:15.

*KIDS 3 YRS.-5TH GRADE Come to Ministry Fair With Your Parents! Get your photo made by Ms. Martha in Huffman Hall, and then take your parents to visit your classroom. While they visit with your teachers, you help fix up your room and leave with a [de-light-ful surprise]. See you there!

*Laredo Trip! Help, help, only eleven people have sent in their checks for the trip October 18 – 19. Information sheets have gone out to all those on last year’s list. If you did not get one, give Margaret Parker a call at 345-0495. I prefer a check as your reservation, but will take a call to reserve a spot. Still just $110 for bus, double room, box lunch and margarita party. We need 40 people to have the perks we have had before. Muchas Gracia! Submitted by Margaret Parker.

*Community Bible Study: Register now for the fall coed class beginning August 26, studying the early Christian church as recorded in the book of Acts.

"CBS" is a non-denominational, weekly Bible study, with fellowship, small group discussions and quarterly socials. Tuesday nights from 7 until 9. Call Winn Chapman 327-6558 or David Gillmore 258-4558 to register.

Donations Needed for the Arts Festival Silent Auction We are looking for donations from individuals as well as businesses that we could put in the silent auction. Example: dinner for 4 at a nice restaurant, gift certificates or that wonderful piece of art you no longer have a need, desire or use for. You get the idea--Contact Sharon Roberts 345-2296 or Margaret Myers 345-1963.

Daily Evening Prayer in the Cauley Bell Tower Chapel Continues every night at 6:00 p.m. Evening Prayer is led by a lay reader of the church. Lasting 12-15 minutes, the service involves the reading of a psalm, a scripture lesson and includes prayers and intercessions for the church and the world.

St. Matthew’s Pictorial Directory Information

Have you signed up? If not, please do so in the Commons after today's service. You should expect to spend about an hour at church during your Portrait Sitting. This will include checking-in, sitting for your portraits, viewing your portraits, and selecting your free 8x10, the Directory photo, and any portrait packages you may wish to purchase.

All told…it should take about an hour.
