Excellent, Experienced Child Care for Your Young Children is Offered from 7:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Nurseries for children 0-18 months are located in Huffman Hall on the parking lot side of the hallway. The nursery for children 18 months - 4 years is in the Education Building. There is also a comfortable, soundproof room upstairs for adults who wish to keep their babies with them during the service.
Home Delivery of Holy Communion If you are unable to come to church and would like Holy Communion brought to you on Sunday, please call Jim Sparks at 345-7757.
Thanks for Wearing Your Nametag! If you need a new nametag please see Dedee Norman at the Welcome Table in the Commons right after church. Thanks for faithfully wearing your nametag each and every Sunday.
Personal Prayer Teams are available during Communion at Prayer Stations on either side of the sanctuary. One station is located on the east side, by the windows, and the other station is on the west side in the gallery. Prayer requests and discussion are completely confidential.
The Good Samaritans Ministry offers love in the form of a hot meal for you and your family if you are in the hospital, sick, or recovering from adversity. In addition, other pastoral care services are available if you will just call the church office, 345-8314 with your needs and requests. In case of emergency, St. Matthew’s clergy may be reached by calling 771-0680.

*Visitor’s Orientation will be held every other week. At that time one of the priests will meet with you to greet and answer questions you may have. If you are visiting and would like to know more about St. Matthew’s and what it has to offer you, please gather at the front of the sanctuary NEXT WEEK immediately after the 10:30 service.
*TONIGHT! New Member Dessert Party 7:00 p.m If you have become a member of St. Matthew's in the past year and have not attended a New Member Dessert Party, now is your chance. The Newcomer’s Council invites you to attend the next party Aug. 24 at Senior Warden Phil and Toni Hatlen’s home. Come and meet the staff, ministry leaders and other new members. If you have not received an invitation and would like to attend call Jeri Muhich 452-1210 .
*NEXT WEEK on August 31, the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend, you are invited to bring a symbol of your work – whether vocation or avocation – to be blessed at the Altar. Your symbol might be a computer mouse, a book, a musical instrument, or a stethoscope. We will offer special prayers for those who are no longer employed and those who are underemployed. What symbol will you bring?
*KIDS 3 YRS.-5TH GRADE Come to Ministry Fair With Your Parents! Get your photo made by Ms. Martha in Huffman Hall, and then take your parents to visit your classroom. While they visit with your teachers, you help fix up your room and leave with a de-light-ful surprise. See you there!

If your child is currently enrolled in 4th or 5th grade, he or she is eligible to participate in the St. Matthew's God and Family class. Classes will meet Wednesday evenings 6:30 - 7:30 in B13. Parent Orientation is Sept. 3rd with weekly children's classes beginning Wednesday, Sept. 10 running through Oct. 22nd. Call Kathy Dugat 343-7989 for questions or to RSVP. Registration deadline is Tuesday, Aug. 26th!!!*Artist’s Reception: Thanks to all of you who have offered to help at the reception on Friday, September 5: 6-8 p.m. and to those who have promised dessert items or finger sandwiches. *Sunday School Orientations We are pleased to offer Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for our children 3 years - 3rd grade. Each classroom is a materials rich hands-on environment with a Christ-centered focus on scripture and liturgy. All new children, all children turning 3 by Sept. 1, and all children entering 1st grade are strongly encouraged to attend an orientation, so they are comfortable when classes begin Aug. 31.
*Sunday School Orientation Registration: Call Jennifer at 345-8314 x 221, to choose your time: 3 yr.-Kinder attend Sunday, August 24 at 4:45; Monday., August 25 at 9:30; Thursday, August 28 at 5:15; or Saturday, August 30 at 10:45. 1st - 3rd grades attend Sunday August 24 at 4:00; Wednesday August 25 at 4:00; Thursday August 28 @ 5:45; or Saturday, August 30 at 11:15.
Daily Evening Prayer in the Cauley Bell Tower Chapel Continues every night at 6:00 p.m. Evening Prayer is led by a lay reader of the church. Lasting 12-15 minutes, the service involves the reading of a psalm, a scripture lesson and includes prayers and intercessions for the church and the world.
Our next regularly scheduled date for Holy Baptism will be Sunday, September 28. If you or your child(ren) wish to be baptized at that time, please speak to Betty Mitchell in the church office. She may be reached at 345-8314 x 215 or
betty@stmattsaustin.org*Laredo Trip! Help, help, only eleven people have sent in their checks for the trip October 18 – 19. Information sheets have gone out to all those on last year’s list. If you did not get one, give Margaret Parker a call at 345-0495. I prefer a check as your reservation, but will take a call to reserve a spot.
