Excellent, Experienced Child Care for Your Young Children is Offered from 7:45 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Nurseries for children 0-18 months are located in Huffman Hall on the parking lot side of the hallway. The nursery for children 18 months - 4 years is in the Education Building. There is also a comfortable, soundproof room upstairs for adults who wish to keep their babies with them during the service.
Home Delivery of Holy Communion If you are unable to come to church and would like Holy Communion brought to you on Sunday, please call Jim Sparks at 345-7757.
Thanks for Wearing Your Nametag! If you need a new nametag please see Dedee Norman at the Welcome Table in the Commons right after church. Thanks for faithfully wearing your nametag each and every Sunday.
Personal Prayer Teams are available during Communion at Prayer Stations on either side of the sanctuary. One station is located on the east side, by the windows, and the other station is on the west side in the gallery. Prayer requests and discussion are completely confidential.
The Good Samaritans Ministry offers love in the form of a hot meal for you and your family if you are in the hospital, sick, or recovering from adversity. In addition, other pastoral care services are available if you will just call the church office, 345-8314 with your needs and requests. In case of emergency, St. Matthew’s clergy may be reached by calling 771-0680.

*ConneXions Social Hour tonight at 7 p.m. in Huffman Hall. If you're in ConneXions, come and get your group assignment and have a good time seeing old friends and making new ones. Bring a finger food treat to share. ConneXions is composed of adult groups of about 10 persons, couples and singles (young and mature), who meet monthly for a meal. Each series lasts about six months. *Young At Heart/Senior Activity Center "First Friday" Luncheon/Speaker
series will meet on Friday, October 3, at 11:00 a.m. in Huffman Hall. The speakers will be Annette Juba and Nancy Tuck who will present "I Will Never Forget," a commentary on Alzheimer’s Disease from the perspective of a health care provider and a volunteer with the program. *Flu Shots Available to Parishioners Wednesday, October 8, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, the Senior Activity Center will sponsor a Flu Shot Clinic. Shots will be provided on a first come, first served basis. No appointments are necessary. Persons having Medicare Part B will receive the shot at no charge but must have their Medicare card with them. The shot will be available to those without Medicare Part B for a charge of $15cash or check. (Make checks payable to First Care Home Health.) The clinic will be held in Room B-18. KAIROS Prison Ministry at Boyd Unit: Ways you can help for October 16-19 weekend. 1) Prayer (sign up to pray for 1/2 hour during weekend). 2) Bake 5 to 10 dozen cookies by Oct 12 (main ingredient is prayer). To give to every inmate and security officer at the unit a dozen cookies requires 4000 dozen. 3) Letters or cards: in batches of 42. 4) Sponsor an inmate. It costs $125 to sponsor one inmate for the weekend, but donations in any amount will be accepted. 5) Cards or art from children. This is especially meaningful. 6) Attend closing service on Sunday October 19 (requires application prior to October 1). For details on any of the above

*St.Matthew’s Day School Fall Fest is Friday, October 17, 5:30–8pm This is the school’s fall fundraiser and it includes a carnival, barbecue dinner, bake sale and drink sale. By popular request, a Spanish class is forming. The class will meet on Monday evenings for 5 weeks, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. If 40 people enroll, the cost will be $50. Daily Evening Prayer in the Cauley Bell Tower Chapel Continues every night at 6:00 p.m. Evening Prayer is led by a lay reader of the church. Lasting 12-15 minutes, the service involves the reading of a psalm, a scripture lesson and includes prayers and intercessions for the church and the world.
